Jerusalem, Oct. 14 -- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the IDF has drawn up a "powerful" plan to respond if Palestinian Authority security forces in the West Bank turn their weapons against Israel, warning that the military would use "massive force" if necessary, claiming that the plan was presented to him 10 days ago.
He also raised the possibility of Palestinian Authority forces turning against Israel during a speech in the West Bank earlier on Tuesday.
Discussing Gaza, Netanyahu said his objective remained "simply to eliminate Hamas", but did not explain how Israel intended to achieve that following the two-year war that erupted after the Hamas-led October 7, 2023, terror attack.
