Shillong, Sept. 9 -- The North East Students' Organisation (NESO), an apex students' body of all the indigenous communities in the region, has demanded a swift and impartial investigation into the death of 54-year-old Manipuri musician and music teacher Chongtham Vikram Singh following an alleged assault in southeast Delhi.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, NESO chairman Samuel Jyrwa said the killing of Vikram Singh cannot be overlooked against the disturbing backdrop of the continuous harassment, racial discrimination, stereotyping, intimidation and violence faced by peopie from the Northeast in different parts of mainland lndia.
