Itanagar, Aug. 28 -- A final-year Agricultural Engineering student of the North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST), Nirjuli, died in a road accident on NH-415 near the institute, police said on Friday.
According to police, the accident occurred on Thursday at around 4:30 am near the NERIST South Block, shortly before the U-turn. At the time, Nirjuli Police personnel were conducting naka checking near HDFC Bank, in front of Nirjuli Police Station, from 2 am to 5 am.
The police team noticed the accident and immediately rushed to the spot, where they found a person lying injured on the road after his scooty collided with the road divider.
