Dehradun, Aug. 28 -- Taking a lesson from recent Nepal glacial lake tragedy, the Uttarakhand government has decided to monitor all its glacial lakes, including 13 identified sensitve Himalayan lakes in the state.
Soon government will take up a survey of Saraswati Tal and Kedartal lakes in Uttarkashi and Chamoli districts.
In view of potential disaster threats coming from glacial lakes in the mountains of Uttarakhand, the Pushkar Singh Dhami government will strengthen its monitoring and safety apparatus of these lakes.
