Hyderabad, Aug. 11 -- Hyderabad City Police on Tuesday detained Nepal-based gang member Sunil Bahadur Aauji alias Sunil Pariyar, 29, under the Telangana Prevention of Dangerous Activities (PD) Act in connection with a sensational murder-for-gain case reported within the limits of Jubilee Hills Police Station.
According to police, Sunil, a car driver and native of Achham district in Nepal, was allegedly involved in the murder of Tanuja Ranjan, 62, wife of retired IPS officer Ray Vinay Ranjan.
Police alleged that Sunil and his associates conspired to trespass into her residence, restrained and suffocated her to death, and fled with gold ornaments and other valuables.
