Lausanne, Aug. 4 -- Former Olympic and world champion Neeraj Chopra will compete in the men's javelin throw at the Lausanne Diamond League 2026 on August 21, organisers confirmed.

The meet, also known as Athletissima, will mark Chopra's fourth appearance in Lausanne.

The 28-year-old Indian athlete won the event in 2022 with a throw of 89.08m and successfully defended his title in 2023 with 87.66m before finishing runner-up in 2024 after producing89.49m, according to olympics.com.

However, the 2026 edition promises to be one of the strongest in recent years, with newly-crowned Commonwealth Games champion and world leader Rumesh Pathirage leading the field.
