Nagpur, July 30 -- : Nearly 20,000 posts are lying vacant in the Maharashtra Police force, raising concerns over the state's ability to maintain law and order and effectively tackle crime, according to information obtained under the Right to Information (RTI) Act by the Association of Social and RTI Activists (ASRA).
Talking to UNI, ASRA president Sanjay Thool on Thursday said that the large number of vacancies has significantly increased the workload on serving personnel, leading to delays in criminal investigations and adversely affecting the overall efficiency of policing across Maharashtra.
