New Delhi, Sept. 6 -- The National Democratic Teachers' Front (NDTF) on Sunday expressed deep concern over the collapse of a private paying guest (PG) hostel in Delhi's Satya Niketan area and called for a time-bound inquiry into the incident, along with a comprehensive safety audit of privately operated hostels and PG accommodations around Delhi University campuses.
The teachers' body said it was deeply anguished by the incident in which a multi-storey building housing students reportedly collapsed, trapping several people under the debris. According to initial reports, one person died while several others sustained serious injuries.
