Hyderabad, April 22 -- The Telangana Irrigation Department on Wednesday clarified that the recent visit of the National Dam Safety Authority (NDSA) Chairman to the Medigadda barrage was strictly official and technical, dismissing reports suggesting political undertones.
In a statement, Irrigation Secretary E Sridhar said the Chairman's April 20 visit was part of routine oversight to review ongoing investigations and provide technical guidance to field teams. He emphasised that the visit was in line with NDSA's statutory role in ensuring dam safety and adherence to engineering standards.
