Puducherry, April 6 -- union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday evening assured to take Puducherry to new heights in development if the ruling AINRC-led NDA headed by Chief Minister N Rangaswamy was re-elected here for a second successive termin the April nine Assembly polls, while being mum on the widespread and repeated demands for according Statehood status to the union Teritory, a demand made by BJP's alliance parties also.
Addressing a public meeting at Thirukkanur in Mannadipet constituency here Amit Shah said the Congress Chief Minister during his tenure had backtracked Puducherry in development and it took the NDA government five years to set things right.
