Pune, March 22 -- Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Rupali Patil Thombre has demanded the immediate arrest of former Maharashtra State Women's Commission chairperson Rupali Chakankar, alleging her role in the alleged sexual exploitation racket linked to Ashok Kharat.

Thombre said she has written to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis seeking prompt action and warned that she would approach the High Court if no steps are taken.

Citing findings of the Special Investigation Team (SIT), she claimed that evidence points to Chakankar's alleged involvement and argued that she should be named as a prime accused in the case.
