Thane, May 22 -- The women's wing of the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar) organised a unique 'Rolling Pin March' in Thane on Friday to protest against the rising inflation allegedly caused by the economic policies of the Central government and highlight woes of housewives.
The march was taken out from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Maidan to the District Collector's office.
The protest was organised after fuel prices were reportedly increased twice within a week following the conclusion of the West Bengal Assembly elections. The party accused the Central government of raising fuel prices to benefit its "capitalist friends".
