Pune, May 26 -- NCP Sharad Pawar faction spokesperson and spiritual ideologue Vikas Sadashiv Lavande was granted bail on Tuesday by Judicial Magistrate First Class Ms. Alisha Bagal here.
On May 21, Wagholi Police arrested Vikas Lavande near Gate No. 4 of the Shivajinagar District Court in the presence of his lawyers following a complaint that he had hurt religious sentiments of the Warkari community by making some allegedly derogatory remarks.
The defense argued strongly that the action violated clear directions issued by the Supreme Court and was illegal, arbitrary, and against established legal procedure.
