Mumbai, May 23 -- Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Mumbai officials seized 702 kilograms of ganja worth Rs 3 crore from a truck which was transporting the drug to various districts of Maharashtra, officials said on Friday.

Acting on specific intelligence, an NCB Mumbai team intercepted two accused Prakash MD and Padamlal NM in Gondia from a truck bearing Maharashtra registration.

During the search, 702 kilograms of ganja worth Rs 3 crore, concealed in 100 packets among legitimate cargo of grocery items like detergent, toothpaste and hair dye, was found and seized.

According to the central agency official, the arrested persons have been regularly transporting bulk quantities of ganja sourced from Odisha to Maharashtra.
