Srinagar, July 12 -- National Conference president Farooq Abdullah and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Sunday said that their party is the true custodian of the legacy of the July 13 martyrs and pledged to uphold their vision of a just, peaceful and prosperous Jammu and Kashmir.

The two leaders paid glowing tributes to the July 13, 1931 martyrs on the eve of the 95th anniversary describing their sacrifice as a defining chapter in Jammu and Kashmir's struggle for justice, dignity and democratic rights.

A party statement said the duo said July 13 remains a historic watershed that ignited a mass movement against autocracy, oppression and injustice in the erstwhile princely state.
