Bhubaneswar, July 25 -- Biju Janata Dal (BJD) president Naveen Patnaik on Saturday launched a sharp attack on the BJP government in Odisha, blaming it for repeated failures in crowd management during the annual Rath Yatra in Puri following the death of a devotee and injuries to several others during the Bahuda Yatra.
Expressing grief over the incident in a post on social media platform X, Patnaik said he was "deeply saddened and heartbroken" by the tragedy in which one devotee lost his life and several others were injured in the stampede.
He conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and wished a speedy recovery to those injured.
