New Delhi, Sept. 24 -- Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday said India's national security doctrine can no longer be confined to protecting geographical borders, as emerging threats increasingly span drones, cyber warfare, lone-wolf attacks, disinformation, economic vulnerabilities and disruption of energy supply chains.
Addressing a defence conclave here, Singh said the government had adopted a "holistic approach" to strengthen defence preparedness against an increasingly fluid security environment. "To view national security solely in terms of safeguarding geographical boundaries amounts to 'Perimeter Fallacy'," he said, stressing that modern warfare and security challenges had expanded well beyond conventional battlefields.
