Chennai, April 18 -- Dr. Abhijat Chandrakant Sheth, National Medical Commission Chairman and President of the National Board of Examinations, union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, has called upon the doctors to put empathy in the forefront over technology.
Delivering his address at the 41st Convocation of the Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (SRIHER) here on Friday, he said patients approach doctors with fear, uncertainty and vulnerability.
Observing that listening to them with kind words could be more powerful than even the most advanced medical treatment, he noted that while technology will continue to transform healthcare, empathy will always remain at the heart of good medical practice.
