Shimla, Aug. 22 -- The Himachal Pradesh Assembly witnessed a high-voltage drama for the second consecutive day on Saturday over the national anthem issue, with the ruling Congress and opposition BJP engaging in a heated exchange and slogan-shouting, forcing Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania to adjourn the House twice.
The proceedings were first adjourned till 1400 hours following uproar and sloganeering by members of both sides.
When the House reassembled after the lunch break, the issue resurfaced, leading to another noisy confrontation.
Amid continued disorder, the Speaker adjourned the House till 1400 hours on August 24.
