Los Angeles, March 16 -- Actor Adrian Grenier believes the mixed reception surrounding his character Nate could be one reason he has not been approached to appear in the sequel to "The Devil Wears Prada".

Grenier played Nate, the chef boyfriend of Andy Sachs, portrayed by Anne Hathaway, in the 2006 adaptation of Lauren Weisberger's bestselling novel.

In an interview with Page Six, the actor theorised that the "backlash" to his character, Nate Cooper, got him snubbed from the forthcoming sequel to the 2006 cult classic, which will see his on-screen love interest, Anne Hathaway, reprise her role as Andrea "Andy" Sachs.
