Mumbai, May 5 -- Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde expressed firm conviction that the court will take a humanitarian perspective and award the death penalty to the monster who brutally assaulted and murdered a four-year-old girl in Nasrapur, Pune district.

The entire state has been shaken by the horrific incident in Nasrapur, where a toddler was subjected to sexual assault and a brutal killing by a 65-year-old man.

The police have arrested the accused, Bhimrao Kamble, who has been revealed to be a habitual offender.

Serious questions regarding law and order have been raised as it emerged that Kamble was roaming free despite having previous sexual assault charges filed against him.
