Nashik, Sept. 10 -- Six people, including a fake godman identified as Hirachand Shivaji Barde, have been arrested in connection with a fraud case in which victims were allegedly lured with promises of making Rs 15 crore "rain" through black magic and rituals in Nashik's Kalwan taluka.

A court has remanded Barde and two other accused to five days of police custody.

The accused allegedly targeted families from Mumbai, promising to multiply their money through occult practices and religious rituals.

Initially, they reportedly gained the victims' trust by claiming that Rs 1,000 could be miraculously turned into Rs 2 lakh. The accused then allegedly collected a total of Rs 10.95 lakh in cash and through online transactions from five people. ...
