Nashik, Sept. 8 -- Maharashtra State Minority Commission Chairman Pyare Khan, along with other members of the commission, visited Nashik Road Central Prison to inspect various facilities and administrative arrangements inside the jail. The visit gained particular significance as 1993 Mumbai serial blasts convict Abu Salem met Khan and reportedly sought his release, claiming that he had completed his sentence.
During the inspection, Khan held detailed discussions with the prison administration and reviewed facilities available to inmates, including healthcare, food arrangements, sanitation and security.
He also sought information about programmes aimed at the reform and rehabilitation of prisoners.
