Panchkula, July 27 -- A fireman posted at the Narnaul Fire Station has been arrested by the Haryana State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (SV&ACB) for allegedly accepting a Rs 20,000 bribe from a complainant in exchange for facilitating the issuance of a Fire No Objection Certificate (NOC) for a medical store and hospital.
The accused, identified as Sandeep Yadav, was caught red-handed during a trap operation conducted by the bureau's Rewari unit as part of its ongoing drive against corruption.
According to the bureau, the complainant had applied for a Fire NOC after installing the required fire safety equipment at his medical store and hospital.
However, the fireman allegedly demanded Rs 75,000-80,000 to process the approval.
