Navi Mumbai, Oct. 25 -- Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today performed the 'Bhoomi Pujan' (ground-breaking ceremony) for key infrastructure projects of the Navi Mumbai Airport Influence Notified Area (NAINA), a planned city being executed through the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO), to prevent unsystematic and chaotic expansion around the upcoming international airport.
Addressing the gathering, he highlighted that the Navi Mumbai International Airport is not merely a transport hub, but an economic multiplier capable of single-handedly contributing one per cent to the regional Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
