Nagpur, June 23 -- : Changing lifestyles, ego clashes, and a lack of communication have led to an alarming rise in divorce cases in the state's second capital, Nagpur, reveals RTI.
Over the past three years, as many as 9,088 couples have filed for divorce in the Nagpur Family Court, of which 5,034 marriages have been legally dissolved.
According to data obtained through the Right to Information (RTI) Act, a total of 2,540 divorce cases were filed in 2023. Of these, 1,705 cases were disposed of, while 1,040 remained pending.
In 2024, 2,596 divorce petitions were filed, of which 1,562 were granted. In 2025, the highest number of 3,952 divorce petitions were filed, with divorces granted in 1,767 cases.
