Bengaluru, Aug. 29 -- The BJP-JD(S) combine is set to continue its proposed 10-day padayatra from September 1 to 10 despite the resignation of B Nagendra from the Karnataka Cabinet, with the Opposition making it clear that the agitation is no longer confined to the former minister.
Nagendra's resignation over the alleged irregularities in the Karnataka Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation has been projected by the BJP as a success of its sustained pressure on the Congress government.
However, the Opposition alliance has decided to press ahead with the agitation, demanding recovery of the funds involved in the controversy and raising a wider set of issues concerning governance and the Scheduled Tribes.
