Patna, Aug. 10 -- On Nagasaki Day, the Indian Doctors for Peace and Development (IDPD) raised their voice against wars and their devastating impact on children, at a programme held at the IMA Hall here.
Speaking on the theme "Children Under the Shadow of Bombs" on Sunday, IDPD National Secretary Dr Shakil recalled the atomic bombing of Nagasaki 81 years ago and said the world had then pledged "Never Again", but wars continued to claim innocent lives.
Referring to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, he said according to the 2026 IPC report, more than 1.2 million people were facing food insecurity and the number could rise to over 1.4 million in the coming months.
