Dimapur, Aug. 1 -- Nagaland's environment, forest & climate change department on Saturday signed an MoU with the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education-Rain Forest Research Institute (ICFRE-RFRI), Jorhat, to strengthen forestry research in the state.
After the signing of the MoU at the Dimapur forest office complex, Nitin Kulkarni, director, ICFRE-RFRI, Jorhat, described the pact as the beginning of a stronger partnership between the institute and the Nagaland government for the sustainable management of forest resources.
He said RFRI, functioning under the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education, had been conducting research on agroforestry, bamboo, agarwood, and other forest resources across the Northeast.
