Dimapur, March 2 -- Amid reports of non-compliance with the statutory provisions governing adoption in Nagaland, Dimapur Deputy Commissioner Tinojongshi Chang on Monday issued an order directing strict compliance with two crucial sections of the Juvenile Justice Act in matters relating to adoption.
The order noted that instances of non-compliance with the statutory provisions governing adoption have been reported in certain quarters.
It reiterated that no child will be offered or given for adoption except in accordance with the provisions of the Juvenile Justice (Care & Protection of Children) Act, 2015 and the Adoption Regulations framed thereunder.
