Dimapur, March 18 -- Nagaland chief electoral officer (CEO) designated all officers and ranks of Nagaland Police from director general, additional director general, IGs, DIGs, commissioner of police and SPs under whose jurisdiction the Koridang assembly constituency going for bye-election falls, and all police officers below them, including home guards and village guards, as election-related officials.
This step was taken for the purpose of complying with Section 28A of the Representation of People Act 1951, with effect from the date of notification for election on March 15 till the completion of the election process.
The bye-election to the constituency will be held on April 9, and counting of votes will take place on May 4.
