Imphal, June 9 -- Naga organizations in Manipur released 14 Kuki hostages in Senapati district on Tuesday.

Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh today welcomed the safe release of hostages as a positive and humanitarian step. Twenty Naga villagers were taken hostage on May 13 followed by abduction of 28 Kuki villagers. Fourteen hostages from each of the tribal communities have been released so far. However, Kuki organizations have not given any information about six Naga villagers.
