Varanasi, July 29 -- Describing the Guru-disciple tradition as an invaluable heritage of Indian culture, a unique example of communal harmony and social cohesion was witnessed on the occasion of Guru Purnima at the Patalpuri Math in Kashi.

Members of Muslim families performed the Aarti of their Guru in accordance with the Sanatan tradition, touched his feet and sought blessings, and some even received Guru Diksha.

Representatives from tribal communities and Muslim families also arrived to receive initiation from Jagadguru Balak Devacharya Ji Maharaj, the head priest of the Patalpuri Math.
