Mumbai, Sept. 14 -- Mumbai on Monday came alive with the arrival of Lord Ganesha as several prominent public Ganesh mandals across the city organised grand processions and performed traditional Pran Pratishtha ceremonies, marking the beginning of the 10-day Ganeshotsav.
The arrival of the idols was celebrated with the beats of dhol-tasha, lezim performances, traditional musical instruments, flower-decorated chariots and enthusiastic chants of "Ganpati Bappa Morya".
Thousands of devotees gathered along the routes of the processions to welcome the idols and seek their first darshan.
Among the major attractions was the Lalbaugcha Raja, one of Mumbai's most prominent and revered Ganesh idols.
