Mumbai, Aug. 20 -- Mumbai's water stock continued its upward trajectory, touching 94.29 per cent of the total useful storage capacity of the seven reservoirs supplying drinking water to the city on Thursday morning, offering further relief over water availability in the coming months.
According to the latest figures released by the Hydraulic Engineer's Department of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the reservoirs collectively held 13,64,737 million litres (ML) of water as of 6 am on Thursday, against their combined useful storage capacity of 14,47,363 ML.
The stock had stood at 94.15 per cent, or 13,62,685 ML, a day earlier, registering a marginal rise of 0.14 percentage points in 24 hours.
