Mumbai, May 15 -- A 17-year-old girl from Mumbai's Aarey area, who had gone missing last month after leaving home to return books, was traced and rescued by Mumbai Police from Bihar in a swift inter-state operation on Friday.
Police also arrested a 23-year-old man accused of taking the minor to Bihar and attempting to marry her. The accused, identified as 23-year-old Paswan, was brought to Mumbai on transit remand. He was later produced before a court, which remanded him to police custody.
According to police, the girl, a resident of Sariput Nagar in Mumbai, went missing on April 20. Her family told investigators that she had stepped out to submit books at a nearby BMC school but never returned home. After searching for her unsuccessfully...
