Mumbai, April 28 -- Mumbai Mayor Ritu Tawde has once again landed in controversy after proposing an expenditure of nearly rupees 3 crore for the repair and maintenance of the mayoral bungalow. Opposition parties have objected to the proposal calling it a wasteful expediture of public funds.
Since assuming office, Tawde has frequently been at the center of disputes, and this latest proposal has reignited criticism.
The proposed renovation of the bungalow located inside Rani Baug includes furniture repairs, installation of new flooring, construction of an additional bedroom, toilet repairs, chandeliers and lighting upgrades, conversion of a hall into a meeting room, and modernization of the kitchen with advanced equipment.
