Mumbai, April 29 -- Mumbai Indians won the toss and elected to bat first against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 41st match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 at the Wankhede Stadium here today.

The decision came after skipper Hardik Pandya assessed the conditions as favourable for batting, noting a breezy evening with minimal dew expected.

"We're going to bat first. Looks like a good, breezy day, slightly cold compared to usual. I don't think dew will be a factor. We'll just bat and see how much we can score," Hardik Pandya said at the toss. He also highlighted the team's focus on a reset approach after a short break, aiming to simplify their plans and play "best cricket" as a unit.
