Mumbai, Aug. 12 -- Five persons were injured after a gazebo, an elevated seating structure, collapsed at Pratiksha Nagar here on Wednsaday evening, officials said.
The incident was reported at 1648 hrs at Mala Garden, opposite T/18 Building, Pratiksha Nagar. Initial information suggested that a ground-floor structure had collapsed and three to four persons could be trapped.
According to the BMC's Mumbai Fire Brigade, the collapsed structure was a gazebo with a GI frame and cement slab roof, used as a seating area.
The injured were shifted to the nearby Sion Hospital in private ambulances before the arrival of fire brigade personnel.
Police, 108 ambulance services and BMC ward staff were also mobilised.
