Mumbai, Sept. 8 -- The Crime Intelligence Unit (CIU) of the Mumbai Crime Branch has arrested a 45-year-old security guard from Jammu and Kashmir in connection with alleged threats issued to a city-based businessman from a Pakistan-based mobile number, officials said on Monday.

The accused, identified as Mohammad Sharif, is a native of Jammu and Kashmir and has been residing in Mumbai since 2008. He had worked as a security guard in several parts of the city, including Andheri, Sakinaka, Jogeshwari and Bandra.

The investigation was initiated after businessman Imtiaz Khatri allegedly received threatening WhatsApp calls and voice messages from a number based in Pakistan following the demolition action at Garib Nagar in Bandra. Khatri had ear...
