Mumbai, Aug. 31 -- A 25-year-old man was arrested for allegedly killing his pregnant girlfriend by mixing a poisonous substance in a soft drink following a quarrel over suspicion of infidelity in Chembur area of city suburb, police said today.
The accused, identified as Ashish Magar, allegedly gave the drink laced with poisonous substance to 21-year-old Vishnumaya, a Nepalese domestic worker, after an argument over her alleged relationship with another man.
Vishnumaya, who was around two to two-and-a-half months pregnant, fell unconscious and was rushed to a hospital, where she later died during treatment.
