Mumbai, Aug. 25 -- Byculla Police have arrested a 22-year-old man for allegedly throwing eggs during the aagman (Arrival ) procession of Mazgaoncha Morya Ganpati Mandal, an act that police said disturbed public peace and order.
The incident took place on August 23, following which a case was registered at Byculla Police Station, invoking Sections 299 and 196 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Given the sensitivity of the incident, police formed five investigation teams and launched a probe.
Acting on technical analysis and other evidence, investigators identified the accused as Danish Sher Khan, 22, and arrested him within 36 hours after completing the requisite legal formalities.
