Mumbai, July 5 -- A 63-year-old senior citizen died after a tree collapsed on a shop in Kurla West on Sunday afternoon amid heavy rainfall in Mumbai.
According to civic officials, the incident was reported at 12:40 hrs from Naupada, near Hindi BMC School, Gomes Gown Building, Kamani area.
The injured person, identified as Shri Yunus Kundawala, was rushed to local private Fauzia Hospital where he was declared brought dead, officials said.
The incident was reported by Shri Roshan Shinde, PA to the local councilor.
Following the alert, teams from Mumbai Fire Brigade, Police, BEST and Ward staff were mobilized to the spot. Rescue and clearance operations were carried out.
