Mumbai, Aug. 13 -- Mumbai's seven reservoirs crossed the 90 per cent storage mark on Thursday morning, strengthening the city's water security amid continued monsoon activity, civic officials said.
According to the Hydraulic Engineer's Department's Master Control Centre at Bhandup Complex, the combined useful live storage in the seven lakes stood at 90.26 per cent, or 13,06,364 million litres, against the total capacity of 14,47,363 million litres as of 0600 hours.
The stock increased by 0.77 percentage points in the last 24 hours from 89.49 per cent recorded on Wednesday.
The seven reservoirs supplying water to Mumbai are Upper Vaitarna, Modak Sagar, Tansa, Middle Vaitarna, Bhatsa, Vihar and Tulsi.
