Patna, June 10 -- The Bihar Vigilance Investigation Bureau on Wednesday arrested a Mukhiya (village head) of Raj Chakbahauuddin Gram Panchayat in Samastipur district while accepting a bribe of Rs 1.20 lakh.

The action followed a complaint filed by Abdul Mannan, a resident of Dalsinghsarai police station area in Samastipur district, at the Vigilance Bureau office in Patna. The complainant alleged that Rai and the Panchayat Secretary had demanded a bribe in exchange for facilitating withdrawal of his suspension.
