Bhopal, April 15 -- The police in Indore city of Madhya Pradesh have registered an FIR (first information report) against two Muslim women Councillors of the Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) for allegedly not singing 'Vande Mataram' at an IMC meeting.
As per the police, the FIR has been registered against Congress Corporator Fauzia Sheikh Aleem, and Independent Corporator Rubina Iqbal Khan.
According to Indore Deputy Commissioner of Police Amarendra Singh, after an investigation into a complaint, a case has been registered against Fauzia and Rubina at the MG Road police station under Section 196 of the BNS (acts prejudicial to maintenance of harmony between different communities).
