Amethi, April 17 -- A tragic incident occurred on Friday in the Jagdishpur Kotwali area of Amethi district, where a woman and her daughter lost their lives after being struck by a train near a railway crossing on the Bazaar Shukul Road.
The woman's minor son was seriously injured in the incident.
According to eyewitnesses, the three suddenly came in front of the oncoming train. Due to its high speed, there was no chance for the loco pilot to stop in time. The mother and daughter died on the spot, while the boy sustained critical injuries.
Local residents immediately informed the police and ambulance services. Upon receiving the information, police reached the scene, took custody of the bodies, and initiated further legal proceedings.
