Glasgow, July 31 -- Seema Kaliramna produced the performance of her career to win a bronze medal in the women's discus throw at the Commonwealth Games 2026, capping an inspiring comeback from motherhood and boosting India's athletics medal tally to four on a day of mixed fortunes here.
The 27-year-old, a PhD aspirant and mother of a four-year-old son, registered a best throw of 58.66 metres with her third attempt to secure India's only athletics medal of the day. Jamaica's Samantha Hall claimed gold with 61.66m, while Canada's Julia Tunks took silver with 60.67m. Fellow Indian Nidhi Rani narrowly missed the podium, finishing fourth with 57.10m.
