Aizawl, June 1 -- In one of the latest major drug busts along the Mizoram-Manipur corridor, police in Saitual district have eized more than 6.6 kg of morphine valued at over Rs 6.68 crore and arrested three men from Assam after intercepting a truck near Keifang town.

Police said the seizure was made on Sunday on the outskirts of Keifang when officers stopped a truck bearing Assam registration on suspicion. A search of the vehicle led to the recovery of 6.683 kg of morphine packed in 13 packets and concealed inside a specially created compartment near the driver's seat. The truck was being driven by Raju Giri (32), a resident of Bokajan CF in Assam's Karbi Anglong district.
