Kolkata, May 21 -- More than 20 per cent voter turnout was recorded in the first two hours of polling in Falta where repolling is taking place today indicating that like the other constituencies this controversial South 24 Parganas constituency is also heading for a massive turnout.

Polling began at 7 am and has so far remained largely peaceful amid heavy deployment of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) across the constituency.

According to Election Commission data, 20.47 per cent voting was recorded in the constituency by 9 am. Voting will continue till 6 pm.

The repoll is being conducted in all 285 polling stations of the constituency, which has a total electorate of 2,36,444 voters, including 1,21,300 male electors and 1,15,135 female...
